PSC wrote to all our Councillors last September telling them about their duty to Divest from companies complicit in Genocide

We also reminded the Councillors, in our letter to each one on the 10th of September, that neither the Ealing Council Pension Committee or the Council Leader - Peter Mason - responded to our concerns.

We explained that the issues we raised now was supported by detailed research and legal advice undertaken by PSC nationally, and all of this information was provided as links in the letter we sent them - see the letter image.

We also noted in our letter on 10th September that the Council had remembered the Srebrenica Genocide with the words

“Remember Tomorrow, Act Today”

This is a clear obligation on them to act now in relation to War Crimes and Genocide in Gaza. We asked them to propose and adopt the motion we have now included in our petition. None agreed to do this so we started our petition!

Since our letters, and PSC research, a special report entitled “Blood Money” was completed by a collective group of Palestinian action groups called “Shake the CIV” (including Ealing PSC) investigated London Councils Common Investment Vehicle for “Pooled” investment pension funds (termed the LCIV). This report found £Billions invested by Councils all across London, including Ealing. Ealing Council’s Leader was a former director of the LCIV, until July 2024, and is fully aware of this funds operations and the fact that they fully divested from Russia after it’s invasion of Ukraine. There is no excuse for Ealing failing to act now !
