Council Debate on Palestine agreed for Oct Council Meeting
Thanks to your support the Ealing Votes for Palestine campaign has helped change the shape of Ealing Council and guaranteed that politicians who care about Ealing doing the right thing on Palestine and Gaza are now elected to Ealing Council
The new Mayor has disappointingly allowed another Council delay in dealing with our debate but has offered to engage with our group and ensure the Council gives this proper consideration - below is her letter to our request to prioritise the debate

No sitting Ealing Councillor has signed the Pledge for Palestine or confirmed support for our Petition Motion. This is extremely disappointing and extraordinary noting Councillors have signed across all other London Boroughs. Candidates from the Greens and Ealing Community Independents (ECI) have agreed to support our motion and the Pledge for Palestine.

Timeline from Petition Submission
16th Feb 2026 - Our petition with 4974 signatures (required min 3671) was submitted to Ealing Council - Thank You All
25th Feb 2026 - The Mayor refused to add our debate to the upcoming 3rd March full Council Meeting Agenda
26th Feb 2026 - We wrote to the Mayor expressing our dissatisfaction and this delay and the inaction of the Council to date amounted to democracy denied !
3rd March 2026 - Protest at Council Meeting and Question on Ethical Investments refused at meeting
6th March 2026 - Councillors issued request for commitment to petition debate and motion post election and Pledge for Palestine beforehand
12th March 2026 - Publication of Councillor responses to Pledge and Motion Commitments
Members of Ealing PSC and Supporting Organisations submit 5000 signature petition
Ealing PSC, Ealing Trades Council, Amnesty Ealing, Stop the War Coalition and the UK Gaza Community all supported the petition directly and will continue to act in unison to ensure the Council end its complicity
